Our annual race night is being held on THURSDAY 30 OCTOBER in the concert room and starts at 8.00pm. This is earlier than previous years as we are holding it during half-term in order to let the junior team attend and not have to worry about school the next morning.

Those of you who are on Facebook should have already received an invite from me, there will also be posters going up in the club and there's also details on the Latest News page on this web site and it will also be in Park Life (which comes out on Saturday).

It's a good night out and you may even win some money, so remember to bring plenty of cash with you.

Park Life that is.... the first issue of 2008-09 is due out on Saturday 7th September so I need all your contributions by Tuesday 2nd September. I'm assuming that Andy is going to give me a Captain's Corner as he's currently in Ibiza, Paul does a View From the Dug-out so I don't know if Gaz or Lee want to do one (you'll have only played one comptitive game so you won't have much to report on!). I might need people to fill in a player profile, but I might just concentrate on the Saturday team this month as I don't know if I'll see the Sunday team before the 4th September.

Don't forget that advertising space is available for £25 per season, so ask around to see if there's anyone who you think might want to put an advert in the best football newsletter in Leeds.

All

Just want to keep u all updated on developments since the weekend - The Sunday League Secretary contacted me on saturday to Invite us into the prem due to teams not accepting the opportunity.I told him i had to thro it out to the lads and they all came back and said lets give it a go so on Monday evening i contacted Ron Waite and confirmed that East End Park Sunday would like to accept the invite for us to play in the Premier Division for season 08/09 !!!!

I think this as come at a time when we probably have our strongest swaud for many years and hopefully the rise to the prem will attract a few more quailty players which will see us compete in the prem division. the teams which have gone up with us are Burley United (beatable), Oldfield (beatable and beaten), East Leeds Celtic (beatable and friendly oppontes next week).

Alongside current premm teams Halton Moor ( County champions) , Hunslet Green (Champions), Hope (pitch derby !!), whistlestop, Middelton (who we gave a good game in the cup pre-current sqaud) and Hunset Wellington (Form Engine who we played previous season in cup and gave a good account of ourselves)...........

so in all i think we can give a good account of ourselves next season !

the lad will be told the effort as to be raised to make sure we're not embarrassed though im sure they know this already.

ANY PLAYERS WELCOME TO COME DOWN AND PLAY

Cheers Andy, I did get your Word document, unfortunately you did it in 10 point font which as the newsletter is done in 12 point (due to 10 point being so hard to read!) meant I had more than I needed which then meant I had to so some major re-design work to get everything to fit (but don't let it worry you) and then this morning Paul Ogi sent me some more stuff and if you're reading this Paul, try turning you caps lock off now and again!! Anyway, the end result is a bumper edition of Park Life, the drafts of which I'll be bringing to training tonight for proof reading, or in the case of the Saturday team, flicking through and trying to spot their names. Will you be there? Let me know if you can't make it and I'll send you a draft in .pdf format so you can check the Sunday team stuff.

I won't be able to make it on Sunday as it's Mothers Day and Adam's coming round for lunch which my younger son will be cooking, though he doesn't know this yet as I haven't told him.

Andy/Gav

Do you know what the transport situation is for Sunday, I might come to watch but don't want to get to the club and find there's no space in any cars.

Adam isn't available on Sunday he's having to rest for a couple of weeks (at least) because of his knee/groin injury. His groin injury might have something to do with ongoing knee problem.

Yes, I did suggest that Craig took a touch. This was my memory deceiving me - probably caused by the fact that Craig had time to take several touches as there wasn't a single Seacroft player within 20 yards. Perhaps he had his eyes closed......

I noticed that in the Evening Post that Jamie Francis got the credit for the goal, how did you pull that off?

Why no mention of the greatest own goal ever scored at Skelton Road. The EEP defender, under no pressure, takes a touch and toe pokes the ball into his own net. Much better than the deflections off his back side that Craig normally scores for his own side.

Here's the new Forum, a bit like the old one but better (I hope), there's a bit more to it than the Messageboard. I'll leave the Messageboard on for a day or two while people decide which they prefer. Can people let me know what they think, if most of you prefer the Messageboard we'll stick with that.
