These nights are important to the section and help us to try and fund improvements to the ground etc whilst also putting a few quid behind the bar and it also gives an opportunity to socialise..quite heavily for some.

Those who didnt contribute for no reason other than they couldnt be bothered but still like to enjoy the benefits we offer, hang your heads in shame and sort yourself out for the next fund raising event.

Thanks again

I have now reached that stage in life, and it is fast approaching for Mr Mercury, where I am considering switching back to drinking pints of Mild due to the ever rising costs of lager and so my club withdrawal symptoms are purely financially based. With that in mind I have been reliably informed that you can obtain Carlsberg cold for only £1.60 a pint at the Black Horse in Mabgate mmmm. However, count me in till around 10.00 then a nice cup of cocoa and off to bed for me. Just to add that this is one strictly for the men I'm afraid, spouses,partners,girlfriends/boyfriends will have to stay at home and watch Strictly (and the men can watch it on demand when they get home). Should be a good night so let us know asap.

Paul

The plan of attack is to meet in the Wardrobe at 7.30 then a curry at Argrah's at 8. Due to Ogi getting withdrawl symptoms from the club we will then move on to Mecca bingo to calm his nerves. We need to get an idea of numbers so that we can book a table or two. Can everyone find out if they are available that night and let Noel/Ogi know on Saturday.

Dear Manager, or to whom it may concern,

The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder, so I'm emailing you today to invite you to try something new by taking your training session indoors. Now I appreciate that you can't kick a football in the gym, however what you can do is work on 100% fitness, with weight resistance machines, free weights or in our cardio section or even try our new power plates.

I can supply free passes for all the people that are wanting to take part, there is no obligation to sign up after the session.

What I am putting together is a circuit around the gym based on exercises to help develop fitness specifically for football. Again there is no obligation to use this work out if you and your team come and want to do your own things then that is fine.

With us being based in the city centre, what I am also trying to incorporate is a team bonding session straight after your work out, maybe a few beers/drinks in the city centre or an evening meal whatever the team fancies of course this would be something you can organise, or I can get a few recommended places dependant on what your looking for.

We have slots available for both October and November, however a few slots have already been taken and I expect all slots to be filled very quickly.

To get involved ASAP or to discuss further, please call me on 0113 2441200 or email me at steven.venables@virginactive.co.uk.

Kind Regards

Steven Venables

Membership Consultant

Virgin Active Limited

Virgin Active Leeds City

Centaur House

91 Great George Street

Leeds

LS1 3BR

Telephone: 0113 2441200

Fax: 0113 2441234

Email: steven.venables@virginactive.co.uk

Web: www.virginactive.co.uk

Activate your life!

I thought the team looked really good on Saturday also. The addition of the “first team” players made a big difference in quality with the likes of Stocks, Paddy and Ogi. Chester is a quality player and a good addition. Sam is absolutely solid in the middle. With the likes of Matty still to come back and after a few more games playing together, I think the seconds can really do well this year. We looked hard to beat; something that has been lacking in the last few years… if I can get fit, me and Dan should get a few goals between us so let’s see…..maybe a cup for us as well as the 1sts this year?

Scotty…. man Mountain?? More like mountain of jelly!

Seconds it the place to be this year! I am happy with my decision to step down and think we may surprise a few this year. Watch out of the 6-5 and 7-4 goal thrillers this year! let the firsts keep the boring 1-0’s!!

It's good to see that our intimidation has an effect on your namby pamby team. Last year your centre backs Cog and Craig were too scared to come and play at the gladiators arena. Rumour has it that they have bottled it again. The only bad thing is that the man mountains of McAllister and Kano are unable to play after surgery from their battles last year. PS who is this Stephen Tatler he's apparently too scared to face any first team!!!!!
