Just a post of thanks to all who attended last nites race night and those who sponsored and sold/bought the horses for the races themselves. These nights are important to the section and help us to try and fund improvements to the ground etc whilst also putting a few quid behind the bar and it also gives an opportunity to socialise..quite heavily for some.

Those who didnt contribute for no reason other than they couldnt be bothered but still like to enjoy the benefits we offer,hang your heads in shame and sort yourself out for the next fund raising event.

The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder, so I'm emailing you today to invite you to try something new by taking your training session indoors. Now I appreciate that you can't kick a football in the gym, however what you can do is work on 100% fitness, with weight resistance machines, free weights or in our cardio section or even try our new power plates.

I can supply free passes for all the people that are wanting to take part, there is no obligation to sign up after the session.

What I am putting together is a circuit around the gym based on exercises to help develop fitness specifically for football. Again there is no obligation to use this work out if you and your team come and want to do your own things then that is fine.

With us being based in the city centre, what I am also trying to incorporate is a team bonding session straight after your work out, maybe a few beers/drinks in the city centre or an evening meal whatever the team fancies of course this would be something you can organise, or I can get a few recommended places dependant on what your looking for.

We have slots available for both October and November, however a few slots have already been taken and I expect all slots to be filled very quickly.

The reserves have been drawn away to Leodis in the First Round of the District Cup. The game will be played on 19 September. Leodis are in the All Sports Award Division of the LRTL where they finished mid-table last season, they play their home games at Temple Newsam.

Seconds it the place to be this year! I am happy with my decision to step down and think we may surprise a few this year. Watch out of the 6-5 and 7-4 goal thrillers this year! let the firsts keep the boring 1-0’s!!
